Portrait Party | Houston Family Photographer

One of the challenges of being an on-location photographer is lack of control. Sure, we can manipulate ourselves and our subjects to adjust to nearly any situation whether it be crowds, wind or blazing sun. But I can’t deny that sinking feeling in the pit of my stomach when I arrive at a location to find absolutely no parking, and not one square foot of people-free land in sight. This was the case on Saturday when I met with the C family.
Mind you, had I been on top of my game, I would have scanned the events calendar, seen that there was to be a huge disco/Cinco de Mayo party that very day, and suggested other options. But In this case, I’m so glad I failed to do my research because this spot was perfect for them and we had an awesome time. There was a house DJ playing and the energy around the entire park was incredible. We danced, laughed and completely lost track of time (apologies to my own hungry family waiting at home for me that evening). I’m very excited to meet the new addition to this fun fun family.
