In Defense of Television

Let me preface this by saying that I’m well aware of the detrimental effects tv viewing has on children* and I think we do a really good job of limiting the amount of time our little ones spend in front of the television. That said, there are times like yesterday when I’m cooking dinner, Stevie’s writing, and the boys have just finished two rounds of “Pour It Out” that somehow resulted in a pushing match that I have to throw in the towel. I want to feel guilty, I really do. But how can I when a) it is the ONLY time they’re awake and somewhat silent, and b) they look like this.

And i have to add that the moment that second picture was snapped, Caleb kissed Brax on his cheek (smack sound and all) and said “I love you Braxton”, then moved to the other couch. *sniff, sniff*

* I really don’t think it’s all that terrible.
