I Love Houston: Centennial Gardens

I like to do this thing where I say I’m going to start a series. I name it, get all geeked about it, and then you never see it again. I’m doing it right now. This series that you won’t ever see again is called “I Love Houston” because really, I do. I love the diversity, the food, the culture. But most of all, I love love love sweating in November. I do not, however, appreciate this recent mosquito infestation or the fact that head-to-toe OFF! application is now a part of our morning routine. You can keep that, Houston. Yesterday, temps dropped below 75 (!) so we had a bit of a respite. We headed to the Museum of Natural Science because it was free but mainly because we could walk over to Hermann Park and finally enjoy some bite-free time outdoors. I hadn’t visited Centennial Gardens yet and OH MY GOODNESS am I mad at y’all for not telling me how beautiful it is. Like made me teary-eyed kind of beautiful. At some point, Brax looked around and whispered “This is incredible, Mama”. Seriously, if you live in Houston and haven’t been yet, go now. Or after work or something.
I swear they didn’t show up with trash in their hair.
