Does Your Home Look Like This?

the damage copy

Now that the boys are approaching age 4, we’ve been thinking a lot about how it’s time we focus on making their bedroom an inviting space of their own as opposed to the look we have going on at the moment (think prison cell with stained carpet). We’ve discussed it several times before and even gone so far as to complete about 85% of a mapped out decor scheme. It was all of 3 days before the destruction began: tearing down pictures, writing on walls, yanking down curtains, ripping books and my personal favorite, emptying a brand new tube of toothpaste all over the walls and floors.

Alas, here we are again, gluttons for punishment and looking for ideas on how on earth to encourage your toddler or preschooler to have a little unsupervised play in their room (although most of this damage takes place during nap time) without destroying their things. Surely this can’t be a completely unrealistic goal, right?
