***This is a lengthy post that has nothing at all to do with style despite the fact that you are indeed reading a style blog. If you don’t like children, there’s really no reason for you to continue.

The boys will be starting full time kindergarten in less than 2 weeks. My intentions were to write about how significant this is as a stay-at-home mom and to discuss how these past five years have been full of amazing and awful and enlightening and mundane experiences that I would never in a million years trade for anything in the world. I’d also speak of how the thought of my tiny little men being away from home for 40 hours out of the week makes all of my insides lunge towards my throat where they remain until the thought dissipates. I’d reminisce about all the “firsts” I’ve been lucky enough to witness. I’d mention our exciting days of trips to the zoo and water parks and museums as well as the days of just getting in the car with no destination in mind – only the fear that if I had to pretend to be Mater (and pretend to love it) for one more second, my head would explode. But my eyes are already tired from crying and I’ve been making great efforts to approach this whole kindergarten thing in a positive way. So here are some photos. I had to go through 2 hard drives and 3 rolls of tissue to put these together. I’m sure there are heaps more photos, but I’ve run out of tissue so…

At what they have most recently started referring to as “Boring Park”. Guess that’s what happens when you visit several times a month for 5 years. Whatever. It has a sand pit and it’s like it was built with Hide-and-Seek and Rescue the Princess in mind.

At their all-time favorite spot: “Heights Park” a) at age chubby, b) at age cowboy. This was their first playground crush. Both boys were smitten, but C told me he “fell in love with her”. Said her name was Sunshine. Her name was not Sunshine.

This is all the same day but I stumbled upon it in my search and it just makes my heart happy.
