A Bride and Groom

At some point each year, I consider the idea of shooting weddings (I currently do not). I mean, they’re beautiful. Everyone is looking their absolute best. At least 90% of the subjects are of the age where I don’t have to chase them, entertain them, or bribe them with candy. The vast majority of those present actually want to be present. And there’s just something so beautiful and intimate about photographing two people who are in love. But then there’s that whole OHMYGOD-WHAT-IF-I-DROP-MY-CAMERA-DURING-THE-FIRST-DANCE thing. Or the WHAT-IF-I-SNEEZE-DURING-THE-FIRST-KISS idea. I can not.

But the stars aligned last week and I was able to soak in all the joy of photographing a beautiful wedded couple without any of the pressures of capturing a first this or first that. It felt as much like a treat as it did work. M and K, I’m so glad I met you guys. I loved our session.
